Eligibility Criteria

The scholarship is open to medical students enrolled at universities in Australia or Aotearoa New Zealand.

Application Guidelines

Submission Requirements

Applicants must adhere to the following guidelines:

• Submit a piece of work previously assessed at their medical school. This can include a public health project, case history, reflection, evidence-based medicine project, or clinical audit.
• Provide a reflection piece (800 to 1000 words) on selected learning objectives from the Public Health Medicine Advanced Training Curriculum. The reflection should link the objectives to their work and detail what they learned.
• Submit a presentation plan (maximum 500 words) outlining how they would present their work and reflection if selected.
• Include a letter of support from their University confirming current enrollment and validating the submitted work. The letter should be signed by the Dean of the Medical School.
• Complete the application form and email it to Foundation@racp.edu.au.

Additional Guidelines

Applicants must ensure:

• Anonymity of personal and university identifying information in their submitted work.
• References are formatted in Vancouver style as required by the Medical Journal of Australia.
• If the work is a group project, each applicant submits an individual application with personal reflections and presentation plans.

Selection Process

The selection process is rigorous:

• Applications are reviewed anonymously by a panel of experts based on predefined criteria.
• Regional finalists are selected from each Australian state, territory, and Aotearoa New Zealand.
• All applicants are notified of the outcome of their application.
• Finalists present virtually at the finals event in March/April 2025. Judges select the overall winner based on presentations and submitted work.
