Physicians must have good interpersonal and communicate skills with their patients, patient’s family and friends, likewise other healthcare professionals both far and near.

5. Professionalism

All physicians must be committed to professionalism when it comes to carrying out their professional duties, sticking to ethical principles, sensitive to a diverse patient population with mistake or error.

6. Systems-Based Practice

A physician must aware of and be responsive to the system of health care, aside from that, they must be able to use the available information to provide quality health care for their patient.

What Are The Responsibilities Of A Physician?

The major responsible of a physician is to diagnose and treat injuried or no injured patient, aside from that the responsibilities of a physicians include;

  • Taking and keeping medical histories
  • Examining patients
  • Prescribing medications
  • Giving advice on diet and preventative health care.
  • Ordering, giving, and interpreting diagnostic tests and more.

There are generally two types of physicians generally:

  • Medical Doctors(MD) and
  • Doctors Of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)

Although, they all carry out their profession in the same methods of treatment, drugs and surgery, but DOs majorly focus on the body’s musculoskeletal system, holistic patient care and preventative medicine.

Education And Training Of A Physician

Physicians spend many years in medical school studying and working as

interns before becoming certified doctors, which is between 7 and 15 years depends on the type of physician.

Here Is The Physicians Medical School Levels:

Before Medical School

All students interested and want to become a medical doctors will apply for admission at the accredited medical school by taking the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT).

All medical school applicants must have  an undergraduate degree, in any  science- related field.

If you are interested in becoming a physician, you need to pass through these process before you can become a physician.

Medical School

Now, if you pass the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) and meet all medical school requirements, then you will study in the medical school for at least 4 years, during this process you will learn everything about science, innovations in treatments and diagnosis, prevention of diseases and care, medical ethics, problem-solving, and more.

Area Of Focus

At the last year of your medical school, you need to decide the type of physician you want to be or where you want to practice based on personal your interests and clinical experiences, after chosen the type of physician you want to be, then you need to apply for the residency program in your chosen field.

Residency Training

When you graduate from the medical education (GME), resident physicians will receive you, then supervise and hands-on your training in programs accredited by the Accreditation Council on Graduate Medical Education.

Residents physicians train with experienced and established doctors in different areas and with a diverse pool of patients.

Continuing Medical Education

Before you can practice as a medical doctor or other types of physician, you need a state license, aside from that, you will be chosing to become board certified in your chosen specialty.
